When exactly is the ‘Right’ time to make a start on career change?
This episode comes after one too many conversations with too many great women this week, who are stuck in a no win position of being unhappy or wanting more from their career, but who are also still waiting until the ‘perfect’ time, the ‘right‘ time to do something about it.
Bollocks to that.
There is no right time for you to make a start on career change, or shift in your work life to do something more meaningful – there’s no perfect time other than right now.
If you wait for that mystical right time, if you wait for ‘all your ducks to be in a row’ you will be waiting a very long time and either never make the change, or – depending on your situation – eventually something not good will happen to force a move at some point – neither of which is a great outcome for you.
So in this episode Shandra:
Questions if she is a hypocrite
has a bit of a rant,
shares some examples and theories on why people tend to look for a ‘right time’
and gives you an invitation to make some sort of start towards working out what might be next for you…
“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now”
- Chinese proverb
